Prior authorization · Independent practices

Payers have a whole department for this. Now you do too.

Retta checks your prior authorizations against the payer’s criteria before they go out, tracks them while they’re pending, and has the next move ready if one’s denied, whether that’s a reconsideration, a peer-to-peer or an appeal. It fits how your staff already work: portal, fax or phone.

The math

40

prior auths per physician / week

13 hrs

physician + staff time / week

That’s nearly two working days, every week.

Spent on portals, phone trees and fax confirmations. Two in five physicians have staff dedicated entirely to it. Then a denial arrives, your team fights it, and the clock starts over.

Before · During · After

One place for every authorization, from request to resolution.

01

Before it goes out

Retta checks the request against the payer’s published medical policy and points out what’s missing, like “Policy requires six weeks of conservative therapy. None documented.” Then it builds a clean submission packet with the evidence cited. Your staff send it the way they always do.

02

While it’s out

Every request goes into one list with its status and deadline, and anything that’s gone quiet too long gets flagged. No binder, no sticky notes, no wondering whether anyone heard back.

03

If it comes back denied

Retta reads the denial, works out what kind it is, and lines up the best route back: a reconsideration for missing paperwork, a one-page brief before a peer-to-peer, or an appeal letter drafted from the chart. Every deadline is tracked, so none slip past.

No integration project

Nothing to install, and no one to ask permission.

Retta runs alongside your EHR, not inside it. It doesn’t need your hospital host’s IT team, a build request, or a six-month integration. Forward a fax, upload a portal letter, or type in the basics, and it takes it from there.

Things Retta won’t do

The fine print, up front.

It won’t submit anything without you. Retta prepares and your team sends. Your name goes on it, so you make the call.

It won’t make things up. Every clinical statement in a draft links back to the page of the record it came from. If the evidence isn’t there, it doesn’t go in the letter.

It won’t send your patients homework. Everything works without the patient lifting a finger.

It won’t charge your patients anything, ever. Practices are our customers. Patients never are.

Taking on a handful of practices first.

We’re working closely with a small group of independent practices to build this around how you actually work. We start with the services and payers you send most, and grow from there. If prior auth eats your week, we’d like to hear about it.
